Link shortening in text messages
Among other capabilities, our system offers a built-in mechanism for link shortening with a uniquely generated link per each message sent. With this feature you can embed long links into your text messages without having to previously shorten them yourself, and you don't have to use any of the publicly available shortening services which can be blocked by some mobile operators because they have been used to distribute malware or scams in the past.
Links are shortened to a short web address using an address owned by us (and thus not used anywhere else other than our built-in shortener and for unsubscribe messages) - mssg.in. With this address a shortened link will look like this: https://mssg.in/g/tz3Fw9 (the random letters and numbers after "/g/" are the part that's unique to each link and each recipient.)

When creating your message content, as soon as you enter any text that appears to have a web address in it, a checkbox will appear that will allow you to enable link shortening.

Afterwards, when reviewing the message prior to sending, there will be an indication that link shortening is enabled, and it will show what links will be shortened. You will also be shown the approximate appearance of the links in the message.

Link shortening is also supported via API. Link shortening when sending messages via SMPP is not supported at the moment.
